Board health lives in people’s heads until someone opens the board and reads it. Nothing surfaces “three things went overdue this week” on its own.
Scheduled Digests writes that summary into the board itself, on a schedule, so it arrives where the team already works instead of in another inbox.
How it works

It finds the status and date columns itself — there is nothing to configure to get a useful first digest.

Pair it with a scheduled trigger — daily, weekly, whatever cadence the team actually reads.

The digest posts to the board
A dedicated digest item collects every run as an update, so the history reads as a thread rather than scattering.

Overdue means overdue
Past its date and not in a done status. Items already finished are not nagged about.

The digest never counts itself
The digest item is excluded from its own statistics.

A big board cannot overflow the update
Lists are truncated with an explicit “and N more”, and the body is hard-capped, so the post always renders.

Item names are escaped
Board content is rendered safely — a cheeky item name cannot inject markup into the digest.

Installing & getting started
- Install Scheduled Digests into your monday.com account and approve the permissions listed below.
- Open the board you want it on and add the app’s Automation block.
- Follow the three steps above. The free tier covers 1 digest — fully functional, on one board, so you can prove it works before paying.

Permissions, and why each one
me:read- Identify the installing account.
boards:read- Read items, statuses and dates in order to compute the summary.
boards:write- Create the dedicated digest item on first run.
updates:write- Post the digest itself as an update — the core function of the app.
What is stored, and where
- The app stores no board data. Items are read, summarised in memory, posted back as an update, and discarded within the request.
- The app runs entirely on monday code — monday.com’s own infrastructure. There is no external database.

No. It posts to the board, which is where the team already is. Nothing leaves monday.
What if my board has no date column?
You still get totals and the status breakdown. Overdue detection simply does not apply.
