The gap it closes
The bar most Wix sites reach for sits at 2.1★ across 177 reviews. Fourteen of them say the same thing — “No mobile?”, “No mobile, can’t change color, and doesn’t stay at the top. I can’t even delete it.” — and another says the free version carries a watermark. A rival at 3.8★ stopped working outright for its customers in late 2025; another, when a paid limit is hit, replaces the owner’s bar with an advert for itself.
Announcement Bars shows wherever your site shows. It has its own text size for phones, because Wix draws a phone page in a 980-pixel window where an ordinary mobile stylesheet never fires. It pushes your page down by exactly its own height, and moves a floating header down with it, so it covers nothing. Every design control is free, and there is no badge of ours on any plan, ever.
Pro adds up to ten bars, messages that take turns or scroll across, a call-to-action button, start and end dates in a time zone you choose, and rules for which pages a bar appears on. Business adds unlimited bars and a daily count of views and clicks you can export.
How it works
Three steps, then it runs itself.

Write the bar
One message or several, each with its own link. Colours or a gradient, bold, a text size for desktops and another for phones, alignment, width, padding, corners, and whether it fades, scrolls or stands still.

Switch it on
That is the whole placement step: the bar spans every page immediately, with nothing to drag into the editor. Prefer it inside one page? Add the Announcement banner element there instead.

Change it whenever
New wording appears on the next page load, with nothing to republish. Switch the bar off and its script comes off your site altogether.

It never covers your page
The bar pushes the page down by exactly its own height, and a header that is fixed or sticky is moved down with it.

No badge of ours, on any plan
Wix forbids advertising to your visitors and so do we. A bar your plan does not cover simply does not appear — we never put a message of our own in its place.

Closing it asks first
Remembering that a visitor closed the bar means storing a value in their browser, so it only happens when your cookie banner allows functional storage. Without that the bar still closes, it just returns on the next page.

Counts are numbers, not people
Views and clicks on Business are daily totals per bar. Nothing that identifies a visitor is collected, and nothing is written to their device for counting.

- Follow the three steps above. The free tier covers one bar with every design control, on desktop and on a phone, so you can prove it works before paying.

What is stored, and where
- Your bars, their messages, design, dates and page rules live in collections inside your own site.
- The only thing ever stored in a visitor’s browser is that they closed a bar, and only when your cookie banner says functional storage is allowed. On Business, views and clicks are counted as daily totals per bar, with no identifier of any kind.
- Nothing is copied to any server of ours; the app runs on Wix’s infrastructure. Uninstalling removes the app’s collections and its script.

Does it show on a phone?
Yes, and it has its own text size for phones. Wix renders a mobile page in a 980-pixel window, so a bar built on an ordinary mobile stylesheet never changes size there — this one detects the phone layout itself.
Does it need a paid site plan?
No. The free bar works on every Wix site plan.
Do I have to republish to change the wording?
No. The words come from your dashboard on every page load.
Can I show a different bar on the shop pages?
Yes, on Pro. Each bar has a rule for the pages it appears on, and /blog/* matches everything under a folder.
