The gap it closes

The shelf is priced on the one thing a calendar is for. The leader, 4.2★ over 563 reviews, shows ten events on one calendar free and charges $7.99 a month for “Unlimited Events”. The 4.3★ one shows five to ten, and its most-voted one-star review — 38 people agreed with it — reads “MISLEADING - NOT FREE: you get 5 events.. then you are blocked!!! … We are a non-profit”. Four apps on the shelf print their own name on your calendar until you pay.

The free option went away without notice. Google Calendar’s own App Market listing moved from free to $1.99 a month in August 2026, and the one- and two-star reviews since are churches, charities and volunteer groups whose calendar simply disappeared off their website.

And the sync is the complaint. “won’t sync up to Google calendars (even though it says it does)” carries fifteen votes, the 4.3★ rival’s free plan syncs by hand, and the newest entrant’s latest one-star review says “I don’t think one should have to babysit something that is designed to automatically sync”.

Letting somebody else add an event means handing over your website login. “Nobody can add events … unless I give them my log in” is the 4.3★ rival’s second-loudest complaint. The rest of the shelf, in its own words: “does not allow you to create a sequence of weekly meeting”, “can’t handle ‘third Sunday of the month’”, and “an event entered for April 7th at 3p displays as April 6th in PST”.

How it works

Five steps, then it runs itself.

  1. 01

Paste your Google Calendar’s address, once

In Google Calendar open Settings → the calendar → Integrate calendar and copy its public address in iCal format — or its secret address if the calendar is private — and paste it into the dashboard. Outlook, and any other calendar that publishes an iCal address, works the same way. Nobody logs in to Google, and the app never asks for a Google account.

  2. 02

It keeps itself up to date

Whenever its copy is more than 15 minutes old and somebody is looking, the app reads the calendar again — every 5 minutes on Pro. There is no button to press. If Google has a bad minute, the last good read stays on your page, and the dashboard says when it was and why the newer one failed, in words you can act on — including the commonest mistake, pasting the calendar’s web page instead of its feed.

  3. 03

Or type your own, and repeat them properly

Press + on a day. Every week, every other week, every few weeks, the same date each month, or the first Monday or the third Sunday of the month. Cancel or move one date without touching the rest of the series — a series is one entry, not fifty.

  4. 04

    Drop it on a page

Drag it in from Add Elements → App Widgets. Four arrangements: a month, a week, a list, and an upcoming strip for a sidebar or a footer. A phone opens on the list, starting today. Every colour, every layout control and every word is yours, on the free plan.

  5. 05

A visitor takes the event home

Pressing an event shows when, where, what and how often, with a map link for the place and one tap to add it to Google, Outlook or Apple. Every event has its own address, so you can send somebody straight to it.

How it behaves

The decisions that matter.

  • No plan caps events or calendars, and nothing in the app can

There is no count anywhere in the plan limits. The only ceilings are safety ones, identical on every plan and far above any real calendar: 5,000 events you typed in one calendar (a repeating series counts once), 200 calendars on one site, and a 6 MB synced calendar — a church’s entire history measured 643 KB.

  • Nobody ever logs in to Google

The app reads a calendar’s public or secret iCal address and nothing else. It never asks for a Google account, holds no Google password and has no Google permission to lose. Anybody you share that Google calendar with can add events to it, without your website login.

  • A secret address never reaches a page

A Google “secret address” is a password shaped like a link. It is stored in your own site and read by the app’s server; the read that draws your page is an allow-list with no place for it, on any plan.

  • Times stay on your calendar’s own clock

Each calendar has its own time zone, stated plainly in the dashboard. Dates and times are kept as the words you typed and never converted, so a date never slides a day for a visitor west of Greenwich. Adding an event to a visitor’s own calendar writes the exact moment, so it lands at the right hour wherever they are.

  • A lapsed plan never deletes anything

If a Pro site stops paying, every synced calendar it added is kept: the first one in each calendar keeps working, the rest are paused, and the dashboard says which. Nothing you typed is ever thrown away over a card.

  • No badge and no watermark, on any plan, ever

Every arrangement, every colour and every visitor-facing word is on the free plan. Nothing this app draws carries the maker’s name.

  • It never sells a ticket or takes a payment

No registrations, no checkout, no percentage of anybody’s door. It needs no store and no other app underneath it — not Wix Events, and not Wix Stores.

  • Nothing is written to a visitor’s device

No cookie, no local storage, no session, and nothing loaded from anybody else — no font, no script, no tracker. The map and add-to-calendar buttons are ordinary links that go nowhere until they are pressed.

Pricing

Free tier that actually works.

Billed per site through the Wix App Market, monthly or yearly (yearly saves 20%). Every paid plan starts with a 14-day free trial. The free plan is deliberately functional and never expires, so the app can prove itself on a real site before you pay for it.

Free

$0

A Google, Outlook or iCal calendar synced into each calendar you make, public or secret address, read again every 15 minutes with the last good read kept. Your own events with proper repeats (every few weeks, the first Monday, the third Sunday) and one date cancelled or moved without touching the rest. Month, week, list and upcoming, with a phone opening on the list at today. Categories with filter buttons, private events hidden or shown as busy, add to Google, Outlook or Apple, a link to every event, and spreadsheet and calendar-file import and export. Permissions, and why each one

Read site, business and email details
The single scope the app asks for. It is how the app knows which site is asking and which plan that site is on. The install screen is one line.

What is stored, and where

  • Your calendars, your events, the design and the wording are stored in collections inside your own site, visible in your content manager.
  • A synced calendar’s address is stored in your own site and read by the app’s server. A visitor’s browser never contacts Google or any other calendar provider, and a secret address is never sent to a page.
  • The last good read of each synced calendar is kept in your own site, so a bad minute at the provider does not blank your page.
  • Nothing is written to a visitor’s device — no cookie, no local storage, no session.
  • On Business, and only if you switch suggestions on, a visitor who suggests an event is storing what they typed: the event itself, and a name and one line saying how to reach them, both optional. No network address and no identifier of any kind. A suggestion is deleted once you approve or decline it, and deleting one works on every plan, including after a Business plan ends.
  • A record of changes to your calendars is kept for 400 days on every plan, so a Business upgrade has a history to show. It names the calendar or event that changed, never who suggested it.
  • No email is ever sent by this app; there is no mail server in it.
  • Uninstalling removes the app’s collections. Nothing else on your site is touched.

Questions people ask.

How is this different from Event List & What’s On and Class & Event Timetable?

Event List & What’s On is a list of dated one-off happenings, and is deliberately never a calendar. Class & Event Timetable is the week a studio runs, drawn as a grid of classes. This app is a month, a week and a list whose events can come from a live Google, Outlook or iCal calendar and keep themselves in sync.

Do I have to give it my Google login?

No, never. It reads your calendar’s iCal address — the public one, or the secret one for a private calendar — and nothing else. It holds no Google password and no Google permission. The dashboard tells you exactly which address to copy from Google Calendar’s settings.

Is there a limit on events?

Not on any plan. The only ceilings are safety ones, the same on every plan: 5,000 events you typed in one calendar, with a repeating series counting once, and 200 calendars on one site. A synced Google calendar has no event count at all.

How often does it update from Google?

Whenever its copy is more than 15 minutes old and somebody is looking at the page, or 5 minutes on Pro. Nobody has to press anything. If Google fails to answer, the last good copy stays on your page and the dashboard says why the newer read failed.

Can other people add events without my website login?

Yes, two ways. On every plan, anybody you share the Google calendar with can add events there, and they appear on your website on the next read. On Business, visitors can also suggest an event through a short form, and it waits in your dashboard until you approve it.

Can it do “the third Sunday of the month”?

Yes, on the free plan: every week, every other week, every few weeks, the same date each month, or the first, second, third, fourth or last weekday of the month. You can cancel or move one date without touching the rest of the series. Repeats in a synced Google calendar are read as Google wrote them.

Will a visitor in another time zone see the wrong day?

No. Each calendar has its own time zone, and dates and times are kept as you typed them, never converted, so a date cannot slide a day for somebody west of you. When a visitor adds an event to their own calendar, it is written as the exact moment, so it lands at the right hour for them.

What happens if I stop paying?

Every event you typed and every synced calendar you added stays where it is, and the calendar keeps showing. The first synced calendar in each calendar keeps working and the rest pause until you upgrade again. What stops is the Pro and Business extras: merging, search, per-page choices, suggestions, printing, the event data and the change record.

Does it work on Wix Studio?

Yes. It is a custom element, so it runs on Wix Studio, the classic Wix Editor and Wix Harmony — the same app and the same settings panel.

Put Events Calendar & Google Sync on your site.

Add it, use the free plan on a real site, and only pay once it has earned it.
