The gap it closes
Twenty phrases a buyer types were run against the App Market before a line of this was written, and not one returns a single real app on the object. member only, members only, members only content, gated content, content gating, restricted content, protected content, private content, paid content, premium content, exclusive content, content access, content locker, drip content, locked page, login required, subscriber only, sign in to view, member benefits, club members only — nothing. And paywall returns four cards in total, where every other search on this market returns forty-eight.
The one app that is this object is 1.0★ over two reviews. Its free tier already gives away members-only gating and unlimited placements; its $6.98 a month buys one thing — permission by pricing plan, which means installing and running a second app. Its only paying reviewer wrote: “Paid for a subscription but no documentation — I can’t see how you add a pricing plan and there’s no help.” The best-rated neighbour, Verified by Wix at 4.9★, locks a whole page and charges $5.58 a month for a second lock, for design control, and to take “Powered by PURPLE” off your own website.
So people are sold a members area and given a social network. Wix Members Area, 3.3★ over 728 reviews: “Why do members see eachother? … I want them to access content, but not to see eachother for obvious confidentiality reasons” (25 votes) · “why are the community options not removable??? No one wants to mix their account information with social profiles and customers following each other and ‘badges’!” (11) · “I do not need features such as a ‘Display Name’ or the ability to ‘Block Members’” (12). And around sixty more votes are pages it adds that the owner cannot edit, cannot remove and, three times in the last three weeks, cannot uninstall: “this app is like a rodent, never deletes.”
And the usual answer is a curtain, not a lock. An overlay painted over a paragraph is still a paragraph the browser was sent. It is in the page source, it is in the reader mode, it is in the search-engine cache, and it survives switching JavaScript off. If it matters enough to hide, it matters enough not to send.
How it works
Five steps, then it runs itself.

Put a block where the secret is
Drag it in from Add Elements → App Widgets, anywhere, as many times as you like. A block has two halves: the half everybody sees — a heading, a line and an optional picture — and the half nobody sees until a door opens. Four arrangements: a bordered card, a full-width band, an inline line that drops into an article, and a button that opens the content over the page.

Two locks, both free
An access code works on any site, with nothing else installed and nobody registering for anything — you type it, they type it, case and spaces and dashes do not matter. Or signed-in members: whoever is signed in to your site gets in.

Who is asking is read on our server
A signed-in member is a member because the platform signed a token saying so, and we read that token on our own server — not in the page, where anybody could edit it. It costs no extra permission, which is why the install screen for this app is one line and why it needs no other app installed.

Say it in your own words
Every word a refused visitor reads is an editable field on the free plan — the heading, the line, the code box, the button and each of the three different reasons a code might not work. A lock speaks to somebody at the worst possible moment; it should not do it in a language that is not theirs.

It follows your page
By default it paints no background at all and takes its colour from the page, so a locked block is legible on a dark site and a light one without anybody choosing. Colours, corner rounding, text size, width, alignment and the padlock itself are yours, on the free plan. There is no watermark and no badge on any plan, ever.

The hidden half is never sent
Until the door opens, the words are not in the page at all — not hidden by a stylesheet, not painted over, not in the source. Measured on a published page: a stranger’s browser receives the teaser and nothing else, and the app’s own live probe searches every byte of every refusal for the words behind the door and finds none of them.

A lock is never a paid feature
The two functions that answer may this be locked and may this key turn have nowhere in their signatures to put a plan, and a contract test reads the source on every build to prove it. If your card is declined, nothing you have hidden is published.

A lapsed plan can only ever lock more
Doors beyond the free allowance stop opening; they never start being open. A unit test asserts that for every plan the doors that still work are a prefix of the doors that existed, so nothing can ever appear that was not there.

A code never leaves our server
Not to a page, not to the settings panel, and not even to your own dashboard, where it would be harmless — because with no path at all there is no path to get wrong later. The dashboard shows a code’s shape and offers Replace rather than Show. The one exception is your own spreadsheet export, which you asked for.

It never registers anybody
No sign-up form, no member record, no email, no mail server. The spam-signup complaints on the neighbouring shelf — four reviews, 54 votes, one of them about hundreds of fake profile pages damaging a site’s search ranking — describe an engine this app does not contain.

It never shows one member to another
There is no profile, no display name, no badge, no following and no member list anywhere in this app, and no way to build one. It never reads your member list and never asks permission to.

It never takes a payment
No checkout, no cart, no amount, and it never reads another app’s pricing plan. The platform’s own subscription engine takes a percentage of every transaction, added at the end of April 2026 — visible only in its reviews. A percentage we never charge cannot be raised.

It creates no pages and leaves nothing behind
It appears only where you drag it and is deleted like any other element. There is no members area, no generated page and no folder added to your site structure — and removing the app removes the app.

Nothing about a reader is recorded
On Pro, an opening writes one row carrying a block, a door, which code turned and a moment. No address, no member id, no agent string, no cookie, no session. This app cannot tell you who opened something and has no field to put it in.

One request per placement
A placement makes exactly one call to draw itself, measured on a published page — and a visitor who never tries a key never makes a second. It changes nothing about how your page is served.

- Open it from your site dashboard under Apps. It adds the Members only block element (editor widget, any page, any number of times) / Dashboard page.
- Follow the five steps above. The free tier covers no cap on locked blocks or on placements. Both locks — signed-in members and an access code — plus an owner-only draft mode and an un-gated mode. All four arrangements, every colour, the width, the rounding, the text size, the alignment and the padlock. Every visitor-facing word editable. A teaser with its own heading, line and picture. No watermark and no badge, ever., so you can prove it works before paying.

What is stored, and where
- Your blocks and your doors are stored in collections inside your own site. The hidden half of a block never leaves our server unless a door has opened for the caller who asked.
- Access codes are held in your own site’s data and compared on our server. No code is included in any payload sent to a page, to the settings panel or to the dashboard, on any plan.
- Who is asking is read from the token the platform signed, on the server. Nothing in a page can assert an identity to this app.
- Nothing is ever uploaded to this app. A picture is a web address you typed.
- Nothing is sent to anybody by email. There is no mail server, no sign-up and no contact form in this app.
- No payment is ever taken and no other app’s pricing plan is ever read.

Questions people ask.
How is this different from blocking right-click?
Right-click protection stops somebody copying what is already on their screen. This decides whether it is on their screen at all. Our own Content Protection app does the first; this one does the second, and they solve different problems — a curtain versus a lock.
Do I need a members area?
No. An access code works on any site on the platform with nothing else installed and nobody registering for anything, which is why it is the default for a new door. If your site does have members, the members door lets whoever is signed in straight through with nothing to type.
Is it really not in the page?
Yes — check it yourself. Open a locked block, press Ctrl+U to view the page source and search it for the hidden words. They are not there, because the browser was never sent them. Every other app in this corner sends the content and paints something over it.
What happens if I stop paying?
Nothing you have hidden is published. Doors beyond the free allowance stop opening — they never start being open — and expiry dates and schedules you have already set keep working exactly as set, on every plan. What stops is being able to author more doors, more codes and more records, and the dashboard says which.
Can somebody guess or find the code?
The codes live in your own site’s data and are compared on our server. No code is in any page, any bundle or any payload, on any plan — so there is nothing to find in the source. A wrong code is told it is wrong, an expired one is told it has expired, and neither answer carries a single word of what is behind the door.
Can one block appear in more than one place?
Yes, as many as you like, on the free plan, and each placement can be a different arrangement of the same block — a card on one page, a line inside an article on another, a button in a sidebar on a third.
What happens if I stop using the app?
Your blocks and your doors are ordinary rows in your own site’s data, visible in your content manager. Uninstalling removes the app’s collections and touches nothing else — no page is left behind, because none was ever created.
Does it work on Wix Studio?
Yes. It is a custom element, so it runs on Wix Studio, the classic Wix Editor and Wix Harmony — the same app and the same settings panel. It was built and verified on a published Wix Studio page.
