Wix Video sits at 2.9★ across 450 reviews. Sorted by votes, the complaints are one long argument about the same thing: “No Layout Settings!”, “No layouts. Minimal customization.”, “Bro THERE IS LITERALLY NO SETTINGS!”, “No layout or grid guides. Absolute downgrade.” And right behind it: “Doesn’t work on Wix Studio — simply doesn’t show your video library.”
Video Gallery & Playlists gives all five arrangements and every design control away on the free plan — grid, rows, a spotlight player with the run beside it, a carousel and a strip, plus columns, spacing, corner rounding, text size, accent colour, the play mark (including none at all) and the shape, which includes vertical 9:16 for reels and shorts.
It hosts nothing, so there are no video hours and no bandwidth limit: you paste a YouTube or Vimeo link, or point at a file you already have. And by default the page requests nothing at all from YouTube or Vimeo until a visitor presses play — not even the thumbnail.

Installing & getting started
- Add Video Gallery & Playlists to your Wix site from the App Market and approve the permissions listed below.
- Open it from your site dashboard under Apps. It adds the Video Gallery element (editor widget, any page, any number of times) / Dashboard page.
- Follow the three steps above. The free tier covers twelve videos, one gallery, three playlists, all five arrangements and every design control, search, your own categories, a single-video placement and CSV export, so you can prove it works before paying.

What is stored, and where
- Your galleries, playlists and videos are stored in collections inside your own site.
- The app collects nothing from visitors and sets no cookies — no local storage, no identifier, no play counter. With privacy mode on it makes no third-party request until a visitor presses play.
- Nothing is copied to any server of ours; the app runs on Wix’s infrastructure. Uninstalling removes the app’s collections.

Questions people ask.
Does it work on Wix Studio?
Yes. It is a custom element, so it runs on Wix Studio, the classic Wix Editor and Wix Harmony — the same app, the same settings panel. That is the whole reason it exists: the Editor-era video app does not.
How many videos can I host?
None — and that is the point. The app stores an address, not a file, so there are no hours and no bandwidth to run out of. Your videos stay on YouTube, on Vimeo, or wherever you already keep the file.
What does the import bring in?
YouTube publishes the latest fifteen videos of a channel or playlist in the feed this reads, with the title, description, date and link of each. It does not carry video lengths, so imported videos show no length until you type one. It is a snapshot into your own collection, not a live connection.
